In the bustle of making things better the fun of naming the releases has escaped me.

The release now is 1.2.6, taking number 26 and picking an athlete who wore it. Most of the time I’ve never heard of the athletes I’m choosing because that’s fun for me. As we hit some ground breaking updates I’m sure I’ll pick some more well known players. Regardless I’ve never been all that great at remembering names, careers, and jersey numbers attached to them.

Benny Friedman played for the brooklyn dodgers — the football one- among other teams. He was inducted into the hall of fame well past his death. And he was someone who lobbied to make it into the hall of fame.

In February 1976, more than 40 years after his NFL career had ended, he wrote a letter to The New York Times pleading his case.

I came across a quote recently, and I’ll update this one I find the exact one.

Just because an action is not awarded accolades doesn’t mean it is not virtuous. — Or something like that.

It is most likely that the best things you do won’t be rewarded. This version of software is good. Compared to what I was making less than a year ago it’s earthshattering good. If you read this and use the software, great. If you never see this writing, perhaps better. It does not discredit hours of energy that was put into it.

Friedman is in the Hall Of Fame, and long after his death. What is the award to him then?
